Ministry Resources are few and far between, if you don’t mind my cliche. No matter how far and hard you look, it seems that you can never get enough resources for ministry. Which is a good thing due to the ever-changing opinions of people in general. Here are some of the resources that I feel have been vital to my life and the lives of those around me.
Secrets, Transforming Your Life and Marriage -Kerry Clarensau
This is a Bible study but can be done on an individual basis. Our young women’s Bible study did this in the fall of 2012. It was amazing to see and witness the changes in our own marriages and the marriages of our fellow Bible study ladies. A very valuable resource for women, married or not.
Power of a Praying Wife – Stormie Omartian
I got this book for Christmas 2012 from my Grandmother (I wrapped it up trying to be a good girl, but busted it out about 3 days later when I wanted to wring my husband’s neck-love you hunny) I just started this book but have heard many women say how much this book and it’s counterparts (husband, mom, parent etc) have changed their life and influenced them. So I got over the “old lady” look of the cover and caved and got it.
Grace Covers Me (blog) – Christine Hoover
Christine is phenomenal with her perspective on life and her sheer ability to be real. Her blog is great for women in ministry, pastor’s wives, and church planting wives. Here is an archive of her blogs for church planting wives by topic/category.
The Church Planting Wife: Help and Hope for Her Heart – Christine Hoover
I was so excited when I stumbled upon her blog while looking for resources for pastor’s wives after Cliff was asked to take a larger role at church. I couldn’t have been more excited for this resource to be published just after the new year in 2013 because there are not many reliable and useful resources for women, much less pastor’s wives (much less church-planting pastor’s wives!) Her blogs, book, thoughts and heart are something that every ministry wife should cherish. You won’t regret reading her stories/blogs/encouragements.
